FIND NEW ADVENTURES WITH ROB MESSENGER MOUNTAIN TRAINING

About me...
Hi I'm Rob I grew up in the fells of The Lake District and spent my adolescent years on the moors of the Peak District National Park. I am a keen hill walker, scrambler and rock climber. My instructor style is friendly and relaxed. Operating as a confident and experienced mountain leader, I am open to most ideas.
I have actively been involved in the UK search and rescue scene since 2009 and in October 2022 I moved house and joined Derby Mountain Rescue Team. I have been a search and rescue dog handler since 2013 with my dog Penny (in the picture on the right), she has now retired and I am now training a new dog called "Ghyll".
I have been an outdoor instructor working with a variety of different groups since 2008. A change in personal circumstances, in 2013, led me away from the industry and I am now an industrial abseiler, work at height, rope rescue and first aid instructor.
My passion for the outdoors led to me joining the British Mountaineering Council's Technical Advisory Committee which is a role that I am super excited to undertake and an organisation that I am honoured to volunteer for.
I am currently open to work as a mountain leader in the Peak District, Lake District, Snowdonia and further afield. As my full time job is Monday - Friday I mostly work weekends, but I can do the occasional weekday work, just get in touch and I'm happy to discuss.
If you are not sure if I can help you or not, please make contact and we can chat about your needs.
Rob
